A barreled, cedar-covered porch welcomes guests with large hanging swings, made for evening gazing. The front porch is mirrored by a 300 square foot, elevated back deck that allows for 270 degree views. The vaulted, covered porch is lined in cedar and features double fans and sleek metal railing for a see-through feel.
The Pines
Once rolling farmland, The Pines sits on five acres on the north end of Webster Township. Its gentle elevation and surrounding woods were the inspiration for the home’s design, which aimed to blur the lines between the indoor and outdoor spaces. Massive window spans were treated with a minimalist approach, using modern farmhouse windows and drywalled returns to minimize distractions with views. The sleek black windows provide a frame to nature’s ever changing art. Also prominent in the design were the elevated ceilings and eight-foot, full glass exterior doors, which add drama to every view.

Once inside, the design places the kitchen in the heart of the home. An eight-foot island, which provides ample space for both preparation and seating, sits adjacent to the open great room. Open shelving, crafted from rustic barnwood, provides contrast to the industrial-styled stainless steel appliances. A two-sided floor to ceiling fireplace, with industrial concrete finish and vintage barn beam mantel, provides warmth and ambiance to both the great room and dining room.
